Stations of the Cross
Holy Week is the week leading up to Easter we honor the death and celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Throughout Holy Week, you will be able to tour through our stations of the cross. The stations of the cross is a living, breathing art collection that tells the Easter story. An inspirational scripture and a statement from the artist accompanies every art piece. The art is all sourced by members of the Cathedral family, and ranges from paintings to stitchings to photos.
The stations of the cross will be hosted in the sanctuary downtown from March 25th to March 29th from 9 am to 7 pm. You can attend a self-guided tour at any point during these hours, taking as long as you would like to read, pray, and reflect. The tour starts through the south transept (the sanctuary entrance down the stairs by the snack machines facing Franklin St.) and guides you through 14 pieces along the outer aisles of the sanctuary. At the end you can light a candle and pray in contemplation.
Pastor Irene is leading a guided walk through the stations of the cross on Friday, March 29th at 2 pm. This will be an hour long meditation through the stations of the cross as she tells the Easter story. We hope you will enjoy meditating on the passion of Christ on your own or in a group.
