New Membership Class
Have you decided to become a member here at Cathedral of the Rockies? Do you need more information on the structure and practices of the United Methodist Church? Feel like you need a refresher course? Then the New Membership class is the resource you need!
The New Membership class, hosted by Pastor Duane, is a crash course in Methodism and Methodist practices. It covers everything from historical elements like John Wesley and the founding of the United Methodist Church, to common practices like confirmation and baptism, to modern discussions like the splitting off of the Global Methodist Church. Throughout the class, you’ll also be in fellowship with other new prospective members, and creating new connections at Cathedral of the Rockies before you even become a member. You are required to take this class if you are becoming a member, but anyone is invited to attend the class!
The next New Membership class will take place in the Bishop’s Lounge at 6:00 over the course of three Sundays: October 1st, October 8th, and October 15th. We will also offer a class over the course of three Thursdays: October 19th, October 26th, and November 2nd.
We ask that you attend all three classes of a given course. A zoom option is available if you cannot attend one of the classes. To sign up or for more information, email our Director of Hospitality, Donna Thie at dthie@boisefumc.org!
