Centering Prayer
Centering Prayer is a receptive method of silent prayer in which we experience God’s presence within us.
Closer than breathing.
Closer than thinking.
Closer than consciousness itself.
This method of prayer is both a relationship with God and a discipline to foster that relationship. While you can perform a centering prayer privately, you are invited to join us on Fridays at 12:45 in the Youth Room as we come together for a short time of centering prayer. This weekly small group session supports and encourages each of us to maintain our practice with others on a spiritual journey.
During our worship time, a leader reads out a short reflection. A 20 minute time of silent reflection follows this reflection. We close with a prayer over the concerns brought forth. Afterwords, we’ll have time for people to discuss prayer challenges, recent developments, or our current reading.
If you would like to participate this centering prayer, we invite you to join us this Friday at 12:45. You can learn more about the practice of centering prayer here! Email Kathleen Yochum with questions or for more information.
