Maundy Thursday Service
Maundy Thursday is the day we honor Jesus’ last supper with his disciples, the night on which he was betrayed. Jesus stayed at the table. He served those whose politics were different, whose theology was different. He served those with questions and those that had betrayed him in thought, word and deed.
When the supper was over, he offered himself. He broke the bread, blessed it, and said, “this is my body, broken for you. Take and eat. Do this in remembrance of me.” Then Jesus took the cup, blessed it and said, “this is my body, shed for you. Take and drink. Do this in remembrance of me.”
And so, on Maundy Thursday, in remembrance of these mighty acts, we join together in Holy Communion as we prepare for Easter Sunday.
Cathedral of the Rockies is holding a Maundy Thursday service and potluck at our Amity Campus on Thursday, April 17th at 6 pm in the ministry building. We will open with a potluck and time of fellowship, and then progress into a time of music, scripture and prayer. Check this page or our newsletter for more details on the potluck. We invite everyone to join us in this community meal and somber service of communion and preparation.
