Emmaus Worship Center

Our Church

SanctuaryWorship is our primary activity. At the Cathedral, a diversity of worship options reflects the diverse make-up of our congregation. Since the remodel and construction project added a brand new worship venue, the Emmaus Center, overall weekly worship attendance has increased by one third and our constituency has doubled.

Our youth ministries are enjoying the use of the new Emmaus Center, narthex and classrooms and Mark's House for traditional studies, games, and social activities. A pizza lunch is served to the students at Boise High every Thursday at Mark's House. Having these new spaces has given us an opportunity to touch the lives of youth in a new and meaningful way.

The Cathedral of the Rockies has an exciting and rapidly growing Children’s Ministry. Sunday School is offered at 9, 10 and 11 am. Our new program for ages 0 to 6 Grade features learning God’s message of love and grace through different media. Since September, nearly 100 new young disciples have enrolled, which brings us to serving more than 350 children at present.

Vacation Bible School (VBS) 2008 will be August 4 — 8th. Vacation Bible School has grown from 100 children in 2003 to over 300 in 2007. Almost as many youth and adults work side by side, teaching, cooking or leading games for the children.

Our Children’s Ministry also includes ministry to their parents via Parents' Day Out and Parents’ Night Out, both offered at a reasonable cost and available to the community..

The Ministry of Music, features vocal and bell choirs, a rock band, and one of the best organs and arganists in the country. Music opportunities attract people of all ages and continues to grow as new groups are formed. Thanks to the recent renovation, as many as six rehearsals, meetings, and/or music lessons can be held simultaneously.

Jesus is always specific in how he shows his love. He didn’t go about “saving” people in some abstract sense; he saved people from specific situations, from specific illness, from particular destructive behaviors..

Jesus did not love in the abstract, but showed his love through his behavior in concrete situations. Jesus said, “Whatever you do to the least of these, you do to me.”

The challenge to those of us who follow Jesus is to continue finding specific ways in which we can show our love to those who are in need of spiritual and physical healing.

God’s Vision Our Future is a way for us to help our children and youth by eliminating the debt from our expansion, and providing the means to meet the needs of these disciples of the future.

And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. Romans 8:28
